Plano-based Granite Properties broke ground Thursday on Granite Park IV, a class A office tower and a 299-room Hilton hotel. The tower and Hilton Granite Park hotel will be located at the Sam Rayburn Tollway (State Highway 121) and the Dallas North Tollway in Plano.
It’s the first hotel for Granite Properties.
Both projects are designed by BOKA Powell architects and slated for completion in mid-2014.
Woodbine Development Corporation – which got into the hotel development business in 1978 with the opening of Hyatt Regency Dallas and the 560-foot-tall Reunion Tower– will be the hotel development consultant.
The hotel and the 12-story, 300,000-square-foot office tower are part of an existing 90- acre mixed-use development.
The 262,500-square-foot Hilton Granite Park conference hotel includes 35,000 square feet of conference space, a full-service restaurant, retail shop, a fitness center and outdoor pool and lounge. The lobby includes a large bar area and a unique, multi-purpose technology lounge.
