State and local elected officials and tourism industry leaders will gather at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa on Aug. 26.
The occasion — the celebration of the hotel’s 20th year in business — and the completion of a $35 million expansion and renovation.
The Hyatt Hill Country debuted back in 1993. The facility is located at 9800 Hyatt Resort Drive, on San Antonio’s far West Side.
Dallas-based Woodbine Development Corp., the developer of the Hyatt Hill Country, unveiled details of the hotel’s high-dollar renovation this past December.
“We’re elated that we can bring these new enhancements to this very special property,” noted John Field Scovell, CEO and president of Woodbine, in the Dec. 14 story by the Business Journal.
Scovell added: “While much of what this resort offers is about tradition, we want to reward our loyal guests with new experiences and capture group customers who needed more function space than we were able to provide in the past.”
The expansion doubled the amount of function space the Hyatt Hill Country can offer.
Of course, the feature most are probably anxious to see is the resort’s expanded on-site water park, which now features a year-around wave machine.
